During the festival, Hungarian film director Szilárd Bernáth will conduct a workshop on the possibilities of sociographic film representation. The workshop will explore how social realism influences film language, narrative genres, storytelling techniques, and creative methodologies, as well as the role of artistic ethics in sociographic visual arts.
Topics:
- Fragments of reality as narrative elements;
- Social tensions as the foundation of dramatic conflict in narrative structures;
- Depicting reality as narrative freedom;
- Actor direction techniques for amateur and professional performers;
- The potential for ethical sociographic approaches;
- Sociological and anthropological techniques in writing, material collection, and preparation;
- The creator’s responsibility within and beyond the creative process.
- The workshop is open to students from Transylvanian universities preparing for careers as actors, theater and film directors, cinematographers, screenwriters, and playwrights, as well as those studying other theater and film professions (editors, sound engineers, etc.).
The collaborative sessions will take place between October 30 and November 1 at the University of Arts, according to the following program:
- October 30, Monday: 4:00 PM–5:30 PM
- October 31, Tuesday: 11:00 AM–12:30 PM and 3:00 PM–6:15 PM
- November 1, Wednesday: 11:00 AM–12:30 PM and 3:00 PM–4:30 PM
