The film tells the never-before-told harrowing true story of a group of World War II Polish Jewish prisoners attempting the unthinkable. Forced to work as gravediggers burying their own, Solomon Wiener and Michael Podchlebnik decide to launch a daring escape from a Nazi death camp, in order to give the world’s first eyewitness account of the Holocaust. Taking place in real-time, The World Will Tremble is a nail-biting triumph of the human spirit, demonstrating that even under the most horrific conditions, humanity will still attempt to overcome insurmountable odds.

In the darkest years of the Ceausescu dictatorship, Romania's authorities brought all foreign information under strict control, which meant that major international sporting events disappeared from the screens of the country's only television channel. Large crowds of interested viewers would climb nearby hills and mountains with improvised antennas capable of receiving broadcasts from neighboring Hungary, Yugoslavia, and Bulgaria, to catch a glimpse of the free world. The documentary evokes this unique era and phenomenon through personal experiences, stories, and recollections.

Set on a remote estate in Hungary in the mid-1990s, during the summer heatwave of the century. Iván’s regular and peaceful everyday life is thoroughly disrupted by his narcissistic ex-brother-in-law, Jakab, who moves into the family estate for the whole summer and expects everything to revolve around him. Unfortunately, Iván would much rather have it revolve around Jakab’s beautiful young wife, Léna, who, however, won’t take him seriously for a single minute. In his sorrow, Iván tries to figure out why he has failed at everything in his life: he is stuck on a rural estate in the late 1990s, breeding cattle and resigned to dancing to his family’s tune. But he is soon driven to realise that the estate means far more to him than he’d have previously thought. And if he is to defend it, he can’t afford to be picky about how... The story is a loose adaptation of Chekhov’s play Uncle Vanya.

This film is a remake of the 1921 Hungarian silent movie Dracula’s Death, produced a year before Murnau’s famous Nosferatu. The original film was lost during World War II, but eight emerging directors reimagined it, each directing a chapter from the eponymous novel by Károly Lajthay, published after the film’s release. Shot on 16mm black and white film, the story diverges from Bram Stoker’s classic, unfolding as a series of nightmares and events set in an insane asylum where Dracula is one of the patients. Coincidentally, this is the first Dracula movie directed and produced by Transylvanians.

An old tree sits in the middle of a botanical garden; lonely, as are the other dwellers of the arboretum – thousands of miles removed from their native habitats just so we may marvel at and observe them. Witnesses to our short, haphazard, noisy and turbulent lives. The film tells three stories, three tentative encounters between man and plant, when these two radically different perceptions truly connect for just an instant. Our human protagonists are outsiders and solitary spirits, much like the plants in the gardens. Yet, like the plants, they too yearn for connection.
