Programs of the Mureș County Museum at the 33rd Alter-Native International Film Festival
One of the most significant cultural venues in Târgu Mureș, operating under the auspices of the Mureș County Museum, is the Palace of Culture, which has been hosting the film festival for decades. This year, the competition program features the screening of the short film Bernády Goes to America, created by Gyopár Búzási. As a tie-in, the institution will be organizing a museum day at the festival which focuses on the visionary city-building mayor, György Bernády (1864–1938). The programs can be visited with valid festival admission tickets.
13:00 – 14:00
Bernády’s visions. The artistic values of the Palace of Culture – art historian Erika Oniga will showcase the splendid artworks housed within the building that accommodates the festival. Meeting place: the foyer of the Palace of Culture (Romanian or English translation available).
18:00 – 19:00
Discussion in the Mirror Hall about the secrets of making the animated short film Bernády Goes to America, in the presence of the director and the creative team. The discussion will be led by film critic Szabolcs Előd Németh, artistic director of the film festival.
