Gonzalo Bernal (Madrid, Spain, 09/29/1987). Graduated in Cinema and Theater direction from IORTVE (Official Institute of Spanish Radio and TV). After finishing his studies, doing an internship in TV and traveling around Europe, he moves to Scotland where —during this three years period— he attends various seminars on film and playwriting at The University of Edinburgh. Back in Spain, he begins working in theater, TV and film while continues his training with courses and workshops in the film and scenic fields taught by authors such as Victor Erice or Andrés Lima. Throughout his career on the scenic and film circuit —in entities such as Netflix, Movistar and The National Theater— he has worked for Enrique Urbizu, Juan Cavestany, Alfredo Sanzol, Gracia Querejeta, Koldo Serra, Josep Amorós, Lluis Quilez, Marina Seresesky, Daniel Calparsoro and Jorge Dorado among others. At the same time, he has developed his work as a filmmaker in different fields such as short films, videoclip, documentary, trailer and making of. “Gale” is his first short film as a director.
