Itziar Castro (Barcelona, España, 02/14/1977), actress, producer, writer and director. She was nominated for the Goya Award for Best Actress and winner of Best New Actress Unión de Actores Award for “Skins” by Eduardo Casanova, and Best Actress at Fantaspoa (Brazil) and Buenos Aires Rojo Sangre (Argentina) for “Killing God” by Caye & Pintó. She is know for her roles at “Vis a Vis”, “Campeones” and “Historias lamentables” (Javier Fesser) or “Blancanieves” (Pablo Berger), among other films, TV series and theater plays. She has participated in several TV shows and collaborated with singers, and is a well-known speaker about bullying, empowerment, feminism, diversity, non-normative bodies, LGTBIQ+… As a writer, she has published the book “Con el corazón por delante” and turned some of its poems into songs for her own theater poetical show, written, directed, produced and played by her. “The D@te” is her second short film as a director, after “La soledad” (2021).
