Fernando González Gómez (Madrid, Spain, 01/05/1984). He has directed more than thirty short films, exploring a wide variety of narratives and characters. Sharp and agile dialogues, extreme characters and strange and dystopian atmospheres characterize his work. His films have been shown in hundreds of festivals, receiving dozens of national and international awards. His 8 nominations for the Méliès Award and his candidacy for the Goya for best fiction short film for his short film “Downunder” stand out. Fernando makes his feature film debut with “Standard” (2020), in which he also signs the script and editing. It was the first Spanish film to be awarded the Vanguard Comedy Award at the Austin Film Festival. He has also co-directed the features “The Passenger” (premiered at Sitges Film Festival 2021 and available in 75 countries) and “The Elderly” (2022, premiered at Fantasia Film Festival and Sitges, and available in more than 45 territories).
