A story of an attempt to change one’s fate. MuLa, a woman from a Burmese tribe, the Kayan, has been in Thailand for two years with her husband and all her sons, but her daughter was left on the other side of the border. MuLa wants to bring her to a better world. The long wait, full of anxiety and tension, determines the rhythm and atmosphere of the film.

He was so handsome, with his jet-black hair, standing by the swing. When he smiled, heads would perk up everywhere. It was schizophrenic – he was so messed up that she would do whatever he said. She wanted to listen to his sweet-talking, wanted him to talk until the Moon was up. Then she stopped pinning her hopes on him. She couldn’t let him off so easily for his betrayal.

The green Verdies are the tiny, but brave guardians of the lakeside. The young Verdies only become guardians when their hair turns brown. Until then, however, life is boring. The youngsters with green hair are not allowed to fly on warblers, not allowed to row alone, and they’re not allowed to ride wild frogs at the rodeo. Willy Whistle’s big dream is to become a guardian, but his curiosity always gets him in trouble. However, the whole lake is endangered when the enemies of the lakeside, the Grimps and the swans, form an alliance. The guardians are helpless, but Willy comes up with a daring plan to save his home and his trapped friend, Jeremiah Jump. Luckily he is not alone, because Grandpa, the water snakes and the frogs also come to his aid.
